Mackay Allergy Services has been helping treat patients with allergies since 2010. We’ve assisted countless patients in Mackay and beyond, including Emerald, Proserpine, Moranbah and Bowen. As most allergy clinics tend to be more in the Brisbane area, we are proud to be able to provide consultations and treatments for patients further out from the capital.
We are a tight-knit team, with highly qualified General Practitioners, passionate about allergies and the different ways to treat them. Mackay Allergy Services was founded by Dr Marius Botha and has since gone on to help many patients, detecting and treating a wide range of allergies.

Marius qualified as a General Practitioner in South Africa and moved to Australia 13 years ago. He gained Ear Nose and Throat experience working in a registrar training post for a year. This is where his interest in allergies started.
After coming to Australia, he furthered his studies by firstly completing his AMC. This was followed by the FRACGP in which he received the Mary Mahoney Examination Prize for scoring the highest mark in Queensland. Marius then completed the Graduate Certificate of Allergic Diseases at Western Sydney University.
He has been running an Allergy Clinic in Mackay for the past 10 years. Marius is passionate about helping people that suffer from allergic diseases and enjoys treating children as he feels this is where his treatments have the biggest impact.
Marius recently joined Compass Immunology in Brisbane to do clinics for them in Greenslopes hospital and the Sunshine Coast. At Mackay Allergy Services, our GPs have completed further studies, with the aim of helping the needs of the rural community. We are a locally-owned and operated clinic, specialising in identifying and treating a number of allergies. This includes:

We also help diagnose and treat a wide range of food allergies. We provide skin prick tests which, like our consultations, are available with Medicare rebates – and immunotherapy treatments to help address the allergies you are currently dealing with.
